Emporium Hotels, one of Australia’s most awarded boutique hotel brand, has announced the appointment of Executive Chef, Chris Norman, and Executive Sous Chef (Pastry), Alex Liddle, of their new flagship property South Bank. Both chefs are set to commence in mid-September.
Chris Norman’s culinary experience spans well over 10 years, cooking for at multiple Michelin starred restaurants in both the UK and Australia, and various five star luxury hotels. His extensive depth of experience includes two Michelin star restaurant, The Square in Mayfair in London, world renowned five star hotel The Ritz in London, exclusive destination resort the One & Only Hayman Island, one year under Chef Ross Lusted at The Bridge Room in Sydney, which achieved two hats in its first year of operation, and his most recent role as Executive Chef at Palazzo Versace Gold Coast. Chris will oversee the menu development and delivery for South Bank’s food and beverage offerings, including Belle Époque, the Piano Bar, The Terrace, in-suite dining, conferencing and events.
Norman said this in regards to his new appointment,

Alex Liddle has an equally as impressive culinary background, which includes training at the acclaimed Royal Academy of Culinary Arts, where just 30 people are selected for a scholarship under three Michelin starred chef, Michel Roux Junior each year. Her extensive experience includes being Chef De Partie at The Ritz London, Pastry Chef at Justin North’s Becasse and Head Pastry Chef for Merivale Group’s Events team. Liddle was also Executive Pastry Chef for One & Only Hayman Island and Palazzo Versace Gold Coast.
Liddle said this in regards to her new role at Emporium Hotels,
